PATIENTS RESIDING OUTSIDE OF BRITISH COLUMBIA & ALBERTA

Canadian patients outside of British Columbia and Alberta who want to access private orthopaedic care in Canada can meet with Dr. Costa in person in Calgary or Vancouver. A virtual consultation is also available.

If surgery is indicated, surgical care is provided by Dr. Costa in either Vancouver or Calgary. Most surgeries are currently performed in Vancouver at the Cambie Surgery Centre, or in Calgary at the Canadian Surgery Solutions facility.

This can be provided locally at the Ortho South clinic in Calgary or Vancouver if non-surgical care is indicated.

Procedures Currently Offered by Dr. Costa:

  • Total hip and total knee replacement*

  • Robotic-assisted total knee replacement (using the ROSA robot)*

  • Partial knee replacement

  • Arthroscopic knee procedures (including ACL/knee ligament reconstruction, meniscus and cartilage related procedures, patella stabilization surgery)

  • Arthroscopic shoulder procedures (including rotator cuff-related surgery, shoulder instability surgery)

  • Minor procedures eg, carpal tunnel release, lateral epicondylitis surgery, trigger finger release, hardware removal

*Total hip and knee replacement surgeries are only available at a limited number of private surgical facilities in Canada. Options to receive these types of surgeries in Canada can be discussed with Dr. Costa during your assessment.
