BC PATIENTS

BC residents now have the option of pursuing private consultation and surgery with Dr. Costa in Vancouver!

 

Consultations with Dr. Costa for BC patients take place at the Specialist Referral Clinic in Vancouver. Virtual consultations are also available. If surgical care is indicated, procedures are performed by Dr. Costa at the Cambie Surgery Centre. If non-surgical care is indicated, these services can also be provided by Dr. Costa at the Specialist Referral Clinic.

*Please note, if you are seeking hip and knee replacement surgery, consultations for these procedures take place at the Specialist Referral Clinic in Vancouver, but the surgical procedures are currently only available with Dr. Costa in Calgary. See the bottom of this page for additional details.

Procedures Currently Offered by Dr. Costa:

  • Total hip and total knee replacement*

  • Robotic-assisted knee replacement (using the ROSA robot)*

  • Partial knee replacement

  • Arthroscopic knee procedures (including ACL/knee ligament reconstruction, meniscus and cartilage related procedures, patella stabilization surgery)

  • Arthroscopic shoulder procedures (including rotator cuff-related surgery, shoulder instability surgery)

  • Minor procedures eg, carpal tunnel release, lateral epicondylitis surgery, trigger finger release, hardware removal

*Total hip and knee replacement procedures performed by Dr. Costa are NOT currently available in BC as there are no private facilities yet accredited to perform these procedures in BC. Consultation for these procedures, however, can still occur in-person in Vancouver (or can be completed virtually). If surgery is indicated, travel to Calgary is required for the procedure. Dr. Costa will travel to Calgary to provide your surgical care.  Follow-up care after surgery is available locally in Vancouver with Dr. Costa. Virtual follow-up is also available.
